Blog Journal 10

Blog Journal 10     As a teacher, I would use a data collection survey's to find out which popular activities that my classroom would like to participate in by the end of the week. My goal as an elementary school teacher that teaches fifth grade would be to allow my class the freedom of voting which would allow all of us to engage in activities that are recommended in the classroom. The subject matter could range from gaming activities to videos and movies that the classroom would like to watch. What would make the free "day" great is that I would host the survey on Thursday and allow everyone to vote overnight and in the morning I would bring whatever activity that the class voted on in the class on Friday.         From reading the post from my classmates' blogs I have found interesting the matters of teacher interaction and made me reflect on my current experience while social distance learning and how I could use this time to make my teaching experience more greate

Blog Journal 9       As a distance learner, I liked not having to be on the physical campus in order to obtain my degree. As college student, we have to work and get our education and unfortunately for some, that means having to choose one over the other. What I didn't like for some of my classes was that some teachers felt lonely not being in the environmental classroom and I don't understand why they would feel lonely. It caused them to appear sensitive when talking to them since most of them weren't social outside their lives as professors. When I become a teacher, I would like to not have the classes on zoom and instead just the assignments and have the students call me over the phone whenever they need help. It allows for a more structured learning environment when the goal is anyways to turn in assignments. It cuts out the need to lecture.  Open educational resources are open resources that are available free on the web for the use of learning. These resources range

A paragraph about the new skills you acquired from working on the Web Design assignment. Reflect on what you liked/disliked about the assignment. How can what you learned from the assignment be used in your future career? Post a link to your website. A paragraph about the new skills you learned from working with Diigo. How can this application be useful in your classroom, with team members, and in your individual professional efforts? A paragraph about technology and teacher professional development. Teachers are tasked with being the driving force of technology innovation in education -- which is directly related to professional development, how we stay aware of changes.   Post a link and description of one site you could use to stay informed of technology trends in education. The new talents I've earned from the website assignment is that for the first time in my life I've finally learned how to make and edit my own website. There was nothing to hate about the homework

Blog Journal 7 On the school website that I chose, I chose to go with one of my beloved teachers Mr Coon from Leon High School. On this page, there is information about how he'll direct the class through remote learning and how he will operate his classroom with new technology. On his website, he is brutally honest that he is still learning the technology. On his welcome page below you can see a well-written introduction that allows a parent and student to formally meet the teacher and also some links in which the student will most likely use in order to succeed in the classroom.  https://www.leonschools.net/Page/22223      I would use technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities in the classroom by allowing children the opportunity to learn with visual aids in sports. I believe that the use of laptops and tablets allows the athlete to produce their task the way the coach requires it during the game. I think that teaching children how to succeed will boost their conf

Blog Journal 6   When I first used Diigo for the first time I thought it was kind of cool. I understand that it helps teachers by allowing them to edit webpages by making screenshots that they can use in order to better instruct students on what to do on a new website. It can also be used out of the classroom for other instructional purposes. I like its comfort of use for me and that's the most valuable thing when using a new tool for the first time. It wasn't hard to use and I find it necessary in my other projects.   I like that I can post whatever that comes to my mind in my blogs where people can read it and share it. Blogging can also get you in trouble as we all have seen over the years so it is important to be considerate when you post what you say. I don't like that you can really be traced from websites when you blog because when you sign in the website logs all that information in case someone wants to find out who posted something. I learned in the blogging pro

My early experiences using Twitter was in ninth grade. I used to follow my friends on Twitter and soon everyone in my school was on Twitter. In the future, Twitter would be helpful in order to make announcements about upcoming events. In my opinion, I believe that Twitter is a good platform for news and other information that you can't find on the internet. I followed the president from the beginning of his campaign until the end and I learned so much about the government through his series of tweets. I believe the freedom of speech that Twitter gives someone allows people to know more about the world around them.       The digital divide affects student success in school because it separates age groups and social classes in my opinion. In learning, the goal is to learn from someone older than you in order to understand the importance of the transference of wisdom. Under the rise of social media and the rise of expensive smartphones people are more into watching the videos o
